Cat skiing for Sugarbush early birds

by Staff Report/

The early bird gets the corduroy, but at Sugarbush, it’s the cat. On deep powders, Sugarbush will serve up cat skiing courtesy of its new Pisten Bully cat cab to the first 12 snow lovers who show up at guest services in the Gate House Lodge by 6:45 a.m. The mountain will be theirs until the lifts start at 9 a.m. on weekdays. On weekends, while the Super Bravo quad opens at 8 a.m., the cat will be operating on the North Lynx peak, which opens at 9 a.m.

"The number of runs will ultimately be determined by the strength of the group," Sugarbush spokesman J.J. Toland said.

He estimates first track skiers will get in two or three runs. They also get coffee and a light breakfast for the 7 a.m. trip. The cost is $75. For more information, log on to www.sugarbush.com.
