Women who want to tele can learn from two-time national Telemark champion Heather Paul at Mount Sunapee on Jan. 24. For women of all abilities, the one-day workshop focuses on adventure and fun. The price is $199. Learn more at www.ultimategrooves.com.

Sunapee is also the site of the Jan. 24 Gravity Wars Slopestyle Competition in the SoBe Freeride Zone. Five hundred bucks in cash prizes is on the line as skiers and riders take on some 30 jumps, vert wall, boxes and other gravity-defying features.

Killington is keeping its 50th birthday season alive with special two-day weekend tickets on select dates. They're available through the mountain's web site — killington.com — and are sure to sell out fast as there are only 1,958 tickets for each date. There are two-day weekend tickets for $100 for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, and March 21 and 22. The price drops to $50 for the two-day pass April 18 and 19.

In the Berkshires, Jiminy Peak's Save Green Weekends are back on Jan. 24-25, Jan. 31-Feb. 1 and Feb. 7-8. Here's the deal: Load the car with four or more people and grab an old lift ticket from any ski area. Drive to Jiminy before 10 a.m. on those dates, park, turn on the flashers, show your old pass to the parking attendant and get one free lift ticket to Jiminy. Only one lift ticket per vehicle and the lift ticket must be from before Jan. 1, 2009.

A few cheap days are coming up beginning with Wildcat Mountain's $9 day on Jan. 23. Then on Jan. 24 it is Biodiesel Day at Cranmore, where the driver of a hybrid vehicle gets a free lift ticket and free swanky VIP parking that day. Mad River Glen has $3.50 tickets on Jan. 27 during Roll Back the Clock Day. Jump on those straight skis and go!

The U Go Girl Rail Jam is Jan. 24 at Attitash.

Cannon's got a secret: Family Fun Nights. Basically on Saturdays through Feb. 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Cannon has a $5 ticket for the Huckerbrook Mini Park open under the lights. Cannon also has Hammerhead sled demos good with the five buck pass. That's outside the Peabody base area.

Speaking of lights, Gunstock’s got them on, too. Gunstock Rocks Saturday nights feature $30 tickets to ski, ride and tube (for one hour) and rentals, too, on non-holidays. Non-holiday Wednesday nights, Wall-to-Wall Wednesdays come with an all-inclusive $25 price tag.

Though it’s a few weeks away, it’s never to early to think about the 14th annual CSC Jimmy Fund Snow Challenge at Nashoba Valley in Westford, Mass., scheduled for Feb. 7. The event supports cancer research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Racing, a barbecue and auction are part of the day. A four-person race team entry is $240 while individual racers pay $70. More information is at www.jimmyfund.org.
