Freeman paces U.S. XC freestylers

Kris Freeman (Andover, NH) and Caitlin Compton (Minneapolis, Minn.) led the U.S. in Friday’s 10K/15K freestyle World Cup in Canmore, Canada. Italy’s Giorgio Di Centa and Sweden’s Charlotte Kella won the race.
Freeman was the top male U.S. finisher, posting a solid 20th place. Times were stacked with about a minute separating the top 20. Compton broke into the top 15, ending the day in 14th.
Elizabeth Stephen of East Montpelier, Vt., placed 36th in the women’s race.
