Dartmouth wins UVM Carnival

The Dartmouth College ski team rallied past host Vermont to win the UVM Winter Carnival title on Sunday.

Dartmouth placed first with 890 points, followed by Vermont with 882. The University of New Hampshire was third with 745 points and Middlebury College placed fourth with 683.

Dartmouth trailed 687-660 heading into Sunday’s third day of events.

Vermont’s Caitlin Patterson (Anchorage Alaska) won the women’s 10K Nordic freestyle event, followed by Dartmouth’s Rosie Brennan (Park City, Utah) and Ida Sargent (Orleans, Vt.).

The men’s 15K Nordic freestyle was won by Middlebury’s Patrick Johnson (Anchorage, Alaska). Vermont sophomore Franz Bernstein (Unterthingau, Germany) was second and New Hampshire’s Dylan McGuffin (Northfield, N.H.) was third.

The EISA season will continue with the Dartmouth Carnival on Feb. 12 and 13 at the Dartmouth Skiway and Dartmouth Cross Country Center.
