Local biathlon athletes named to U.S. team

The U.S. Biathlon Association has named several athletes to the Under-26 team that will compete at the Biathlon World Championships.
The World Championships are in their inaugural year and are being held in conjunction with the European Championships in Oteppa, Estonia, March 1-8.
Athletes were able to qualify for U26/European Championships through qualification races at the IBU Cup in Altenberg, Germany, and Nowe Mesto, Czech Republic, in January, as well as the NorAm Cup races in Jericho, Vt., and Lake Placid, N.Y., in February.
Juniors were able to qualify through results at the World Junior Championships in Torsby, Sweden.
Local senior women named to the team include Laura Spector (Lenox, Mass.), Susan Dunklee (Barton, Vt.) and Hannah Dreissigacker (Craftsbury, Vt.).
Grace Boutot (Caribou, Maine) will compete for the junior women.
