Ski & Snowboard Expo finds new home

by PR Wire Report/

The 29th Annual Boston Globe Ski and Snowboard Expo has found a new home: This year and for the foreseeable future, the Expo will be held at Boston's Seaport World Trade Center located on the waterfront, in the Seaport District, close to downtown Boston.

The move to the World Trade Center will result in the Expo occurring, for this year at least, a week earlier than its normal, pre-Thanksgiving weekend; specifically in 2010 the Boston Globe Ski & Snowboard Expo will occur over the weekend of Nov. 11.

The Expo continues to seek a retailer, following Ski Market’s bankruptcy filing, and subsequent liquidation.

With the move downtown, and the fact that opening day, Thursday, Nov. 11, is a holiday (Veterans Day), the Expo's opening hours have been adjusted. On Nov. 11, the show will be open from noon until 10 p.m.; on Nov. 12, the Expo will be open from 3 to 10 p.m.; the Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 13-14) hours will be the same as past years (10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., respectively).

The annual Boston Globe Ski & Snowboard Expo remains the region's largest ski and snowboard sale, with thousands of the best buys in equipment, winter wear, and accessories on site during the four-day expo. Resorts around the globe offer their best preseason savings on winter vacation packages, lift tickets and season passes. Live acts, interactive exhibits, and ongoing giveaways provide Expo visitors with non-stop entertainment.
