Marshall fourth in NorAm super-G

Chelsea Marshall (Pittsfield, Vt.) placed fourth in Sunday’s women’s NorAm Cup super-G at Burke Mountain in Vermont, missing the podium by one-tenth of a second.
Laurenne Ross (Klamath Falls, Ore.) ended the NorAm Cup super-G season on a high note, taking the win at Burke. Alice McKennis (Glenwood Springs, Colo.) and Canada’s Marie-Michele Gagnon joined Ross on the podium.
Leanne Smith (Conway, N.H.) was seventh, Jenna Kantor (East Burke, Vt.) was 10th and Julia Ford (Plymouth, N.H.) did not finish.
Ross secured the women’s NorAm super-G title with Sunday’s win. She will officially become the NorAm super-G winner after Monday’s super combined. The super-G portion counts as an independent race.
The women will race the super combined on Monday at Burke before changing venues to Waterville Valley, N.H.
