Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton Mountain, Vt.) finished sixth in Friday’s final World Cup snowboardcross event in La Molina, Spain.
"Lindsey rode great,” U.S.snowboarding head coach Peter Foley said. “The round of eight on her side of the ladder was really like the final. It had the two Canadians with Dominique (Maltais) and Maelle (Ricker), as well as Helene Olafsen. In the start sequence she flew just a little too low on the first table and cased it a little bit, and that was it. She tried to make one pass on the bottom but the snow was too sticky."
Norway’s Olafsen was the winner, followed by Switzerland’s Meiler and Canada’s Ricker.
On the men’s side, Ross Powers (Londonderry, Vt.) placed 11th and Alex Deibold (Manchester Center, Vt.) was 22nd.
