Pittsfield skiers have plenty of opportunities nearby, and one is within the city limits. While ski areas within city limits are not unheard of, few can boast 750 feet of vertical drop, but Bousquet is a real mountain and 16 of its 21 trails are open for night skiing. The sight of those lighted trails has caused many regular business visitors to travel with skis to this Berkshire community. Locals take advantage of the proximity to compete in racing programs, and the kids fill up learn-to-ski programs. Bousquet is real skiing just 10 minutes from downtown hotels.
