Catamount, sitting as it does astride the Massachusetts-New York border, is convenient for skiers from three states. With 1,000 feet of vertical, it is as big as all but two of Massachusetts' areas and bigger than anything to the south. The 27 trails are almost equally divided according to ability, a key feature in the learn-to-ski programs that fuel skier visits year in and year out.
