Ski Areas: Massachusetts
Western Massachusetts
Jiminy Peak
skijournal.com mountain overview:
Skiers think of Bay State ski areas primarily as day areas, but Jiminy Peak is a glaring exception. Pittsfield skiers treat it as a day area, but skiers from New York and Connecticut come for weekends and vacations, finding a mountain with some serious, steep pitches off the top and other runs that swing wide around the area boundaries for easy trips down. For lodging, they check into the Jiminy Peak Country Inn, a handsome piece of traditional New England architecture that keeps with the surrounding Jericho Valley and includes a conference center, suites, rooms, a dining room and a lounge. Townhouses and condos add to the lodging, and more dining can be found in the Crane Lodge, John Harvard's Restaurant and Brewery, and Christiansen's House Tavern. Jiminy Peak is Massachusetts' destination ski resort.
