Wachusett Mountain
skijournal.com mountain overview:
The busiest ski area in Massachusetts attracts as many skiers as many of those giant mountains to the north. With six million people living within an hour, Wachusett Mountain fills the slopes night and day. Its 1,000 feet of vertical drop is the most east of the Berkshires, and learn-to-ski programs for every age create new skiers every season. The spacious base lodge has four eating options and has won numerous awards for its amenities and services. A few years ago, Wachusett bulldozed a perfectly pitched beginner area next to the ski school's headquarters to create the ideal learn-to-ski place. Coupled with a massive snowmaking system and meticulous grooming, this kind of service makes Wachusett the Bay State's most popular ski area.
