Saddleback is under new ownership, and big things are happening. The base lodge has more than tripled in size while keeping its original rustic atmosphere. On the mountain, a new quad lift serves new beginner runs below the lodge, and the main double to the top has been extended down the mountain for easier access. Snowmaking has been greatly expanded, and a master plan is now in place for future development, which will include more trails, lifts and lodging. Saddleback is true big-mountain skiing with plenty of room to spread the skiers, and it's getting better every year. With 8,000 acres and its own mile-wide Saddleback Lake, this is a year-round resort few can match.
