91st Annual Craftsmen’s Fair at Mount Sunapee highlights things to do August 3-14

Events being held at or in conjunction with New England ski areas between Aug. 3-14.

The Beach Boys at Stratton

Saturday, Aug. 3, 6 p.m.: The iconic band which has sold more than 100 million records during their career take to the outdoor stage. “Rolling Stone” ranked the surf pop band the 12th greatest artist of all time and their 1966 album Pet Sounds was No. 2 when the magazine ranked the top 500 albums of all time.

91st Annual Craftsmen’s Fair at Mount Sunapee

August 3-11, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: More than 200 craftsmen will be selling and demonstrating their wares as the fair returns to Mount Sunapee for its 60th year. In addition to the wheel thrown pottery, fiber work, raku firing, woodworking and blacksmithing, there will be plenty of live music and food.

Stinson Mountain guided hike

Sunday, Aug. 4, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.: The Waterville Valley Recreation Department offers a 4.1-mile guided hike of nearby Stinson Mountain – a peak on the 52 With a View list – led by a Wilderness First Responder. Transportation is provided to/from the trailhead, Meet the group at the Recreation Department and transportation will be provided to/from the trailhead. Tiki Trail 5k Race at Nashoba Valley

Wednesday, Aug. 7, 6:30 p.m.: The last of the seven-race summer series will be Wednesday night on a cross-country style trail with a professional timing system. Registration is $32 ($38 day of race) and includes a post-race barbecue.

Bousquet Folk Festival

Saturday, Aug. 10, 4-10 p.m.: It will be an unforgettable day of music in the Berkshires as Bousquet presents a lineup featuring Session Americana with Kris Delmhorst, Johnny Irion & U.S. Elevator, and Glori Wilder. Adult tickets are $25, ages 12-18 are $15 and under 12 are $5.

Two-Day Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic at Stratton

Saturday, Aug. 10-11, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: The camp is designed to be a welcoming camaraderie-driven experience for women ages 15 and older. It is for beginners, experienced riders looking to pick up new skills or for those looking to meet some other women to ride with. Discount bike rentals and lift tickets available.

Bridal Veil Falls guided hike

Sunday, Aug. 11, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.: The Waterville Valley Recreation Department offers a 4.8-mile guided hike of Bridal Veil Falls led by a Wilderness First Responder. Intro to Mountain Biking at Bolton Valley

Learn how to mountain bike at Bolton Valley (Wed.-Sun.) with a half-day lift ticket and bike rental (with helmet and pads) and a group lesson for $99. Lesson times: Wed.-Fri. 4 p.m.; Sat.-Sun. 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Stick around for the full day for an extra $30.
