Sunday River opening Thursday for those with a costume and season pass

Sunday River will spin the Locke Mountain Triple on Thursday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. as an appetizer for the start of the season.

It will be available to people with New England Pass, Ikon Pass, the Mountain Collective Pass (Sunday River was added to on Tuesday night) and ticket packs.

They will also need to wear a costume.

“This is just what we do at Sunday River — we ski, and we have fun,” said vice president of mountain operations Steve Boulanger.

Snowmaking started Sunday at Locke Mountain and Jordan Bowl.

T2 will be the only trail available and it will not be groomed. Downloading will be required, and with temperatures expected to approach 70 degrees, walking could potentially be required.

The mountain said there will be some special treats for those who come out.
