Dan Egan always knew Tenney Mountain had something special. It was just missing the right person to develop the ski area back into something that Granite Staters could be proud of.
“The reason why I’m passionate about Tenney is people,” said Egan, who recently reassumed the general manager role at the mountain, a position he once held in a former iteration of Tenney two decades ago. “The people that love Tenney, the brand of Tenney, the following of Tenney, that’s so evident to me.
“I really felt it was was unfinished business. So, it’s exciting to be back. It’s not the same ski area as it was 20 years ago because of all the stops and starts that happened over those last 20 years and beyond. But when I first saw that Steven [Kelly] had bought the place, and his background, I just said to myself, ‘Finally, a builder, a developer, somebody who knows how to move the needle forward and is going to invest in the place.'”
Egan and Kelly, the new owner of Tenney Mountain, recently joined Eric Wilbur and Mike Specian on the Basecamp podcast, presented by Country Ski and Sport, to discuss the latest resurrection of the New Hampshire ski area. Watch below, or download wherever you get your podcasts.
