It’s not much of a secret — women like a getaway weekend for the girls or a ladies night out. Perhaps that’s why ski and snowboard camps for women are growing in popularity.
“We have seen so many repeat guests come back and join us,” said Devon Cavagnino, director of skier and rider services at Stratton Mountain, which added a session this season due to demand. “These camps give women an opportunity to have their own time and their own space out on the hill.”
Most of the women’s clinics are held midweek, so you really can find uncrowded terrain. The formats can vary from morning-only sessions to multi-day events with meals, instruction, demos and private lodge space all part of the deal. While many of these clinics are geared to intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, some also welcome beginners.
“Newcomers are encouraged,” said Cavagnino, adding that “they can really gain some ground with two solid days of instruction.”
