People turned out on the opening weekend of skiing at Storrs Hill in Lebanon, N.H. (Amy Drapeau Olson)
After being awarded a grant from the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation that covers the cost of everyone’s skiing and riding at Storrs Hill in Lebanon, N.H., the Lebanon Outing Club was finally able to spin the poma lift on the city-owned facility.
Unfavorable conditions did not allow the mountain to open in December, but the recent run of cold weather allowed the season to finally get started on Jan. 10.
There is public skiing Friday night (5-9 p.m.), Saturday (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.). During midweek evenings, ski programs are hosted.
Storrs Hill has a 300-foot vertical drop and offers 20 acres of skiing on seven trails, a terrain park and a K50 ski jump.
