Vail’s new season pass focuses the market on New England skiers and riders

New England skiers and riders will have two new season pass options available in time for the 2020-21 winter season. 

In addition to its ever-present Epic Pass lineup, Vail Resorts announced Tuesday that it was launching the “Northeast Value Pass,” priced at $599 and featuring unlimited, restricted access at Vail’s Vermont properties Okemo and Mount Snow, as well as unlimited, unrestricted access to New Hampshire ski areas Wildcat, Attitash, Mount Sunapee, and Crotched.

The pass also comes with 10 restricted days at Stowe Mountain Resort, as well as access to other Vail properties in the Northeast, including Hunter Mountain in New York. 

The Northeast Midweek Pass, priced at $449, will offers guests similar access, but restricted to Monday through Friday, and only has five restricted, midweek days at Stowe.

“With eight resorts in the Northeast and more in the Mid-Atlantic now in our portfolio, we’re excited to offer skiers and riders on the East Coast two new pass products to help them achieve their skiing and riding goals,” said Vail Resorts chief operating officer of the eastern region Doug Pierini said in a statement. “Between these two new products and our renowned Epic Pass products, skiers and riders can find the best value whether they plan to ski one day or every day – in the region or around the world.”

The Northeast Value Pass will feature holiday restrictions at both Okemo and Mount Snow, as well as Hunter, and 10 total days at Stowe, also with holiday restrictions. There are no restrictions at Wildcat,  Attitash, Mount Sunapee, or Crotched,  as well as other East Coast properties including Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Whitetail, Liberty, Roundtop, Boston Mills, Brandywine, Alpine Valley, Mad River and Mt. Brighton.

Pass-holders also get “Epic Mountain Rewards,” a new feature which provides a discount of 20 percent off food and beverage, lodging, group ski and ride school lessons, equipment rentals, and more at Vail’s North American-owned-and-operated resorts.

The Northeast Value Pass is also available for teens and seniors at a cost of $449, $419 for college students.
