April snowstorm offers bonus powder weekend for New England skiers

Winter is back. For skiers, it may offer one final epic weekend of the season.

A spring nor’easter dumped a foot of snow or more on many ski areas in northern New England on Thursday.

Snow continued into Friday, with many ski areas expecting more powder to fall through the weekend.

It has created stashes of powder across the ski landscapes of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

In southern New England, where most ski operators have closed for the season, the storm produced mostly rain. But the storm left snow — and a trail of power outages and downed trees in many areas — across the northern part of the region.
